Understanding Armoured Cables

Armoured cables, commonly referred to as steel wire armoured (SWA) cables, mains power cables, or multi-core booklet armoured cables, provide robust protection for electrical installations.

Armoured Cable Specifications

Conductor: Plain stranded copper or aluminium
Insulation: Cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE) provides high temperature resistance and excellent dielectric strength
Bedding: Protective barrier layer between insulation and armour
Armour: Steel or aluminium armour for mechanical protection
Sheath: Outer protective layer with UV-stable black carbon-loaded options
Voltage: Ratings of 600/1000V, 6.35/11kV and 19/33kV

Multi Conductor, 14AWG -1000 Kcmil Copper, FT4 Flame Retardancy Rating, XLPE Insulation, Aluminum Interlocked Armour, suitable for direct burial applications in temperatures from -40°C to 90°C.

Teck 90 is designed for power, control and lighting circuits at industrial plants, chemical facilities, pulp and paper mills, steel mills, mines, power generating facilities, food processing plants and commercial centers.
